Help build the tool we wish existed.
We're two people right now. Three more in the next six months. If “Linear for a niche that hates their software” sounds like the right scope, read on. If you need an existing engineering ladder and a Slack channel for everything, we'll be too small for a while.
What we believe
- Restraint is the feature. We refuse to build a CRM, a tax engine, or a chat product. Doing one thing well is the wedge.
- Bookkeepers are power users. They notice every wasted keystroke. We respect that.
- Honest math beats moonshot decks. Our ceiling is a $15–35M ARR business with a meaningful exit. We tell investors that and they fund us anyway.
- Small team forever. Probably never more than 12 people. Each hire matters.

- 30-min intro with the founder.
- Paid take-home — small, scoped, ~4 hours, $400 flat.
- Pairing session on the take-home with the engineer you'd work with most.
- Reference calls. Three. We'll ask people you've worked with.
- Offer within 5 business days of the pairing session, or we tell you why not.
No coding bar-raisers, no algorithm puzzles, no “personality fit” round. Total elapsed time from first call to offer: about two weeks.

If you're a bookkeeper / accountant who's loud on the internet about how much you hate QBO and has opinions about which keystroke should do what — email us anyway. We don't have a role posted but we will make one. jobs@ledgerinbox.com
